The Stepinac High School Foundation

 
 
On November 13, 1996 the certificate of incorporation for the Stepinac High School Foundation was filed with the state of New York. The following excerpt was taken from the certificate.

“The purpose of the foundation is as follows:

To solicit grants, contributions and donations from public and private sectors, which will be donated to Archbishop Stepinac High School for the purpose of specifically, designated projects and / or tuitions, as determined solely by the Board of Directors. Such donation will have the intention of benefiting education and related activities, all in an effort to promote appreciation for the understanding of Christian faith and life.”

Officers

Mr. James Scully ‘80

President

Jim, a graduate of the class of 1980 is a life long White Plains resident. He attended St. John’s Elementary School before coming to Stepinac. Jim’s older brother preceded him at Stepinac as a member of the class of 1977. Jim received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University at Buffalo and a Construction Management degree from New York University. Jim is a partner in Scully Construction LLC, a leading provider of general contracting and construction management services in the tri-state area. Jim is a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows in White Plains and a member of Westchester Hills Golf Club. He is also a member of the Irish Business Organization, the Westchester Building Contractors Association and the White Plains St. Patrick’s Day Parade committee. An active member of the Alumni Association, Jim co-chairs the long-range planning committee and the annual Alumni Golf Outing. Jim is involved with the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity, helping to construct homes in Port Chester, Mt. Vernon and Yonkers. 



Mr. Robert Hyland ‘63

Vice President

Bob, a graduate of the class of 1963 was born in White Plains and came to Archbishop Stepinac after graduating from St. Bernard’s School. After graduation Bob attended Boston College as an marketing major. Football, according to his coaches, was Bob’s first love. Upon graduation Bob was a first round draft choice for the Green Bay Packers - Bob’s professional football career spanned eleven years and included being a center on the champion Packers in Super Bowl II. After the 1975 season he married Liz O’Brien. Today they have three sons: Michael ‘96, Dennis ‘98 and Kevin ’02 all graduates of Stepinac and a daughter, Christine, who attends The Ursuline School in New Rochelle. Today he is owner and President of the Sports Page Pub in White Plains and a Special Agent for Mass  Mutual Life Insurance. Bob has been an active member of the community, and has been honored with induction to the Westchester County Hall of Fame, the CHSAA Hall of Fame , Boston College Sports hall of fame and Stepinac's Hall of Fame.

 

Mr. Patrick Austin ‘65

Treasurer

Pat is a graduate of the class of 1965. He and his wife, Mary Jean are members of Our Lady of Sorrows parish in White Plains. Pat’s three sons, Patrick Jr. ‘88, Michael ‘91 and Darren ‘98 are also Stepinac graduates. Additionally, Pat’s two brothers, Bob ‘58 and Bill ‘64 are Stepinac alumni. After high school, Pat graduated from Fordham University and became a Certified Public Accountant. He was a Senior Vice President and CFO for WPIX. He is currently semi-retired but still works on taxes and financial planning. Pat enjoys jogging and volunteer work and is a member of several community committees and boards.

 
 
 Mr. James Noonan ‘71

Secretary

A graduate of Pace University and the Insurance Institute of America, Jim is the Risk Manager at the City of White Plains. With deep roots in White Plains, Jim lives right around the corner from Stepinac and continues to serve Our Lady of Sorrows parish (where he grew up) as Lector, Eucharistic Minister and volunteer. Married to Colleen Frawley (Good Counsel '72) Jim has a daughter Megan and son Brian who graduated Stepinac in '03. Jim serves on the City of White Plains Board of Ethics, is President of the New York Public Risk Managers Association, is a member of the White Plains Saint Patrick=s Day Parade Committee and is an inductee into the Stepinac Hall of Fame. A collector car buff and golfer,  Jim is also a member of the Hole in One club at Westchester Hills.

Mr. John Butala ‘82

Director

John, a graduate of the class of 1982, is a member of St. Mary's parish in Ridgefield, Connecticut. He is married to his wife, Patrice, a Maria Regina graduate, and has a daughter, Mary Grace 9 and two sons, Michael 6,and Daniel 3. His brother is also a Stepinac graduate, Stephen '72. After high school, John received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance and a MBA in Information Technology from Iona College. He is currently a Vice President and Treasurer at RBS Sempra Commodities in Stamford, Connecticut.


Mr. Kevin Dervin ‘81

Director

Kevin, a graduate of the class of 1981, is a member of Our Lady of Sorrows parish in White Plains, New York. He is married to his wife, Mary Ellen and has two sons, Sean  Class of 2015, and Brian Class of 2018.  His two brothers are also Stepinac graduates, Dennis ’67 and Jim ’69. After high school, Kevin received a Bachelor of Art’s degree in business from The Catholic University of America. He is currently the Regional Senior Vice President of Property Brokerage at Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services in New York City.  During his spare time, Kevin enjoys coaching the JV boy’s basketball program at OLS and playing golf at Westchester Hills in White Plains.  

 

Mr. Robert Gibbons ‘87

Director

Rob is a graduate of Stepinac High School class of 1987. Following Stepinac, Rob attended SUNY Albany where he graduated in 1991 with a BS in Psychology. After several years working for Verizon, Rob took a leave of absence in 1995 to complete his MBA in International Business at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. Rob followed his MBA with a degree in Telecommunications from New York City College of Technology in Brooklyn and graduated in 2004. In the same time frame, Rob became a chef and graduated from the Institute of Culinary Education in 2004. While studying for his MBA he met his wife Mary. The two were married in 1997 and now have five daughters, Nora (11), Molly (9), Maggie (7), Cate (4), and Claire (2). Rob currently works as a Business Development Executive for Align, an IT Consulting Firm in NYC. Rob is a director of AYSO 324, and an active member of several groups including Irish Business Organization, Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 7, Trinity Business Alumni, City Tech Alumni, Suny Albany Alumni, MNG Network, and the Irish Network-NYC. Rob enjoys spending time with his girls and cooking for his family and friends in Hastings-on-Hudson where he and his family reside.

 

Mr. Terence Guerriere ‘77

Director

Terence, a graduate of the class of 1977, is a founding member of Foundation Board and a past President of the Stepinac Alumni Association.  He is a graduate of Our Lady of Sorrows Elementary School in White Plains, New York and is currently a member of the OLS parish.  He and his wife, Corinna, have two sons, Jonas, 5 and Luke, 3. Terence’s two brothers, John ‘73 and Jim ‘75 are also Stepinac graduates.  After high school, Terence was graduated from Williams College and earned his law degree from St. John’s University.  As an attorney he specialized in commercial real estate and has held several leadership positions with companies in the Title Insurance industry.  Currently, Terence is Director of New York State Operations for Madison Commercial Real Estate Services.  Prior to his legal career, Terence worked as a teacher and school administrator at a private school in Old Brookville, New York.  During his spare time, Terence enjoys basketball and golf and volunteers on local government boards and neighborhood associations in his community.


Mr. Robert Landry ‘54

Director

Robert Landry, a graduate of the class of 1954 is the immediate past president of Stepinac’s Foundation Board. He attended St. Bernard’s grade school, and the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Accounting. He is a partner in O’Connor, Davies, Munns and Dobbins, LLP. He married his childhood sweetheart and fellow St. Bernard’s alum, Lucille and they have three children, Linda, Sheila and Robert Jr., Stepinac graduate of the class of 1982. Bob has 7 grandchildren. The oldest, Stephen, graduated from Stepinac in 1999. Bob and his wife are members of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in White Plains. In his spare time, Bob enjoys golfing and is an avid Norte Dame Football fan! In addition to his volunteer efforts at Stepinac, he has also volunteered in numerous community organizations.

 

Mr. Thomas Martin ‘65

Director

Tom (J.D.,CLU,ChFC,MSFS)has been the owner of an investment advisory and retirement planning firm for over 30 years. He is the President of Circle Advisers, Inc. Circle’s expertise includes all areas of financial counseling, executive compensation and benefits, estate planning life insurance as well as retirement planning. He is a tax attorney by training and a registered investment adviser. Tom is a graduate of The College of the Holy Cross and Fordham University Law School. He has a Master of Science in Financial Services from the American College. Tom has been involved with Stepinac for many years. Tom and his wife, Kathy have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.

 

Mr. Michael Molinelli ‘77

Director

Michael a graduate of the class of 1977, past president of the Stepinac Alumni Association, is a member of St. Theresa’s Parish in Briarcliff. His brothers, Eugene ‘69 and Bruce ‘80 are also Stepinac graduates. Mike is married to his wife Regina and has three children, Luke, Charlotte and Philip. After Stepinac, Mike graduated from the University of Notre Dame and is currently an Architect in his own business, Molinelli Architects. In his spare time Mike enjoys skiing, travel, kayaking and spending time with his children. He is a captain and volunteer in the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department and is a member of the Board of Directors  and former president of Child Care Council of Westchester. In the past, Mike has worked in the Shore homeless shelter and as a CCD teacher. 

 

Mr. Joseph Russo '65

Director
 
 Joe is a life long resident of White Plains and a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in White Plains where he currently serves as Trustee. After completing elementary school at St. John’s he went on to Stepinac High School, graduating in 1965. Joe continued to be very active in the Stepinac Alumni Theatre and has been the legal advisor to the Foundation since its inception. Joe has received a BA from Fairfield University, a JD from Fordham University Law School and an MBA from Iona College School of Business. He has conducted a general law practice in White Plains for the last 30 years. Joe has also completed a US Army Reserve career, retiring as Colonel in 2001.  Joe and his wife, Helen, have one daughter, Emily.
