Homework: Students are to keep up with the chapter reading as well as maintain any and all written assignments. Reading will be assigned each night, based on the pace at which chapters are completed. The normal pace for material is Eleven (11) Chapters per semester, breaking down into Five (5) in Quarters One and Three, then Six (6) in Quarters Two and Four.
Students will read roughly one chapter-section per night, and are expected to be able to answer the review questions in class the next day. Failure to do so will be reflected in the homework and participation grade.
Grades: Students will be graded on a combination of tests, essays, homework, class participation and presentations. Tests and essays will factor equally and account for the majority of a student’s grade. All work is to be handed in at the start of class, and a total of five points will be subtracted for each day the assignment is late.
Office Hours: After school help will be made available to students on Mondays and Thursdays after school, or by appointment. Students are expected to seek help if they feel they are slipping in their material, or if recommended by the teacher.
Contact: Parents and students are to contact Mr. Hogan by email or phone at school. Email is preferred by all Stepinac Faculty.
