Spanish II Syllabus
 

INSTRUCTIONAL GOALS

At the end of this course, you will

  • Know basic conversation on various topics(includes review of Spanish 1 materials)
  • be able to converse at an intermediate level using several tenses
  • understand annotated short stories
  • be prepared to study level III Spanish

NEEDS AND RESOURCES

Required Background

To successfully complete this course, you must  

  • know basic concepts of target language taught in Spanish 1
  • be able to converse and read at level 1 proficiency
  • understand basic conversations on pre-determined topics

Required Materials

To successfully complete this course, you will need

  • Amsco text
  • Notebook designated for only this subject
  • Spanish dictionary
Additional Print Resources
  • Selected reading passages distributed by teacher
  • Reading materials from outside sources (self-initiated study)
 
Online Resources
  • Various websites that can help student review materials taught in class

 

COURSE SCHEDULE

Spanish II will include a comprehensive review of material learned in Spanish 1.   Introduction of new tenses such as the Preterit and Imperfect will be covered. Present Progressive tense and Future will also be introduced. Intensive reading will be done via teacher distributed materials. Vocabulary augmentation will be emphasized.


POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

General Rules:

Students are expected to be in their seats when the bell rings. Students must always bring textbook and notebook and previously distributed materials

Grading Policies:

Test and quizzes will be given on a regular basis. The students will take many short recitation quizzes on materials covered. There will be tests-quizzes at frequent intervals so that if a student falters on one test-quiz he will have ample opportunity to enhance his grade.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

It is important that students copy material so that they will retain the information more accurately.
