INSTRUCTIONAL GOALS
The global history core curriculum is designed to focus on the five social studies standards, common themes that recur across time and place, and eight historical units. The curriculum allows students to explore what is happening in various regions of the world at a given time. Additionally, it enables students to investigate issues from multiple perspectives and make global connections and linkages that lead to in depth understanding. A Regents Exam will be taken in June.
NEEDS AND RESOURCES
- To successfully complete this course, you must develop a solid foundation of geography, coupled with a desire to research and discover the basis of alternate world cultures, religions, language and political & economic systems. It is important to keep an open mind when trying to make sense of why and how things are different over time and place.
