Health Syllabus
 

INSTRUCTIONAL GOALS

The goal of this course is to provide solid, fundamental knowledge of various health issues concerning society today. This course is especially geared toward the health concerns of teenagers.  Students will increase Health literacy in areas of physical, mental and emotional health.

 

At the end of this course (half year), Students will understand:

  • Overall Health and Wellness
  • How Diet and Nutrition effect the body
  • How to maintain healthy Weight and Body Composition
  • The Health Triangle (Physical, Mental/Emotional, and Social)
  • How to manage Stress and Anxiety
  • Violence Prevention

  • 1 Folder
  • Text Book : Glencoe Health Ninth Edition ISBN- 0-07-861211-X

The students will be graded on the following:

  • Graded Homework Assignments
  • Chapter Exams following completion of lesson and review
  • Quizzes will be given at the teachers discretion
  • Cumulative Final Exam
