Spanish I Syllabus
 

At the end of this course, you will

  • learn Spanish grammar.
  • be able to read and understand basic written and spoken Spanish.

NEEDS AND RESOURCES

 

Required Materials

To successfully complete this course, you will need

  • a Spanish I textbook (Amsco).
  • a Spanish I workbook (Amsco).
  • a marble type notebook.
  • Loose-leaf paper

 


 

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

General Rules:

 

           Students must come to class and be in their seats when the bell rings.

     Students who are tardy and enter the classroom during a quiz or test will not be allowed to     

     take said quiz or test and will receive a zero.

     Lateness will result in detention.

Grading Policies:

 

  1. Students must complete all homework assignments on the day specified by the teacher.      

Students will receive a zero for homework assignments not completed. Past-due homework assignments cannot be made up. If a student is absent the day homework is due, the assignment must be turned in the day he returns to school.

2. Students will have one or more quizzes or tests per week. These can be unannounced. Quizzes and tests can be based on the previous day’s class work, notes, homework and reading assignments. A test or quiz may be given at the start or end of class.

 

 3. Homework assignments, quizzes and tests missed by a student may only be made up if                 

 the absence is legal. A zero will be received for any work missed by a student who is absent     

 illegally.

 

 4. A student is responsible for completing during his free time or after school any quiz or test                      

 he has missed due to an absence.             l. 

       5. A quarterly grade will be computed according to the following formula:


       Quizzes and tests = 80%

       Homework assignments = 20%
