INSTRUCTIONAL GOALS

 This course will cover most aspects of college algebra with trigonometry applications.

Required Materials

To successfully complete this course, you will need

  • Textbook
  • Notebook  
  • TI 83 graphing calculator

COURSE SCHEDULE

During the first quarter, the following chapters and topics will be covered:

  • Chapter R – Fundamental definitions and notations  
  • Chapter 1 – Linear and Quadratic equations in one variable
  • Chapter 2- Linear and Quadratic equations in two variables

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

General Rules:

Students are expected to

  • be on time to class
  • bring textbook, notebook and calculator to class
  • have homework out and ready to be checked
  • take class notes on a daily basis
  • demonstrate a respectful classroom attitude

     

Grading Policies:

In general, each quarter’s grade will be comprised of 4 unit tests and a Homework grade.  The Homework grade will be counted as a fifth unit test.
