*if handed in on Tuesday there will be a 10point reduction*

If you have any specific questions over the weekend while working on your papers you can email me at venice.joe@gmail.com and i will respond to questions only (no proofreading or drafts acceptable)

Required Materials:

 5 Subject Notebook

Course Description:

 This course will explore the development of world literature from ancient times to the present. With emphasis on major authors and literary trends, all forms of literature will be covered, including poetry, prose, and drama. Discussion and written assignments will stress insight into the works and the correlation of history, culture, literature, and other fine arts. Emphasis will be placed on critical, analytic reading skills, participation in-depth, constructive class discussion, and critical, evaluative writing.  In doing this, we will prepare for the NY State Regents Examination, which is taken during the junior year. 

Academic Integrity:

 Students are expected to be honest in all academic work. Academic dishonesty is considered as any of the following: plagiarism, cheating, giving or receiving

 answers on independent work or an exam, using previously prepared material during exams and quizzes, and submitting work completed for a previous course. If you are caught plagiarizing or committing any other act of academic dishonesty, your are subject to disciplinary action including, but not limited to, a failing grade on the assignment, a failing grade in the course, or disciplinary probation.

 Your grade in this class will be determined by the following:

 

Notebook:

 Your notebook must be neat and organized.  It will be checked regularly throughout the year for neatness and quality of material. 

Homework:

 Each homework assignment must be completed on time. Homework will NOT be accepted late. You will receive a ZERO on the assignment.

 

Exams, Tests, Quizzes, Papers and Projects:

 4 Major Exams per quarter 

Weekly quizzes and reflection papers

1 major paper per quarter

 

Participation and Preparedness:

 

You MUST be prepared for class with the listed materials and homework.
